Setting a Goal
Launching in late 2020 amid Covid-19 restrictions and worldwide amateur and professional sports leagues being shut down, we at the National Directory of Private Coaches and Training Facilities set out with a goal to build a better system for athletes to stay active, and continue progressing in their athletic development, while avoiding crowded training sessions. At the same time, we wanted this new system to be easier, cheaper and fair for both coaches and athletes.
We therefore set out with an initial goal to build an inexpensive, uncomplicated system for coaches and athletes to communicate openly, for athletes to continue training.
Competitors
We know that we are not the only company to bring athletes and coaches together for private training sessions. There is always a choice, and there are some great companies out there that we compete with. Some of these companies have long histories, and strong management, and you would do well with any of them.
However, some of their coaches had complaints regarding excessive commissions. And some of the athletes had complaints regarding having to pay a booking fee on top of their lesson fee, with some who also experienced issues with obtaining refunds for pre-paid lessons that could not be fulfilled by their chosen coach.
We therefore, set out to be different. To keep it simple. Be fair. Eliminate complaints.
How we are Different
We are the only company that does not charge a commission on every lesson booked. Those commissions can be 25-40% or more! We do not charge any commissions, zero. If a coach charges $50 an hour, they receive $50 an hour. Simple. Fair. 100% Free for Coaches and Training Facilities.
We are one of the few companies that do not charge a booking fee to the athlete. A fee to the athlete just to book the lesson does not seem right. It is 100% free for athletes to find a private coach. Simple. Fair.
We don’t block contact information within the coach’s advertisements, and we don’t screen communications between athletes and coaches to be sure no one is trying to avoid commissions, (because we don’t charge any!) We are also the only company that does not have the athlete pay for their training sessions in advance of the lessons. Communication between athletes and coaches is free and open which makes us unique. Lessons are booked directly with the coach during that communication, for an agreed upon day and time, where both parties agree on how and when to pay.
Our first of many goals has been reached. We developed a simple and fair platform where a coach can place an advertisement on our site for free. No Commissions, no fees, no markups, just 100% free for coaches, training facilities and athletes. Easier, cheaper, fair, and uncomplicated.
How can our site be free? Throughout our site, you will find various sport related affiliate banner ads, and this is how we can generate revenue to help cover our costs and keep our site free for everyone.
Our Mission
Ultimately, our goal, our mission, is to make it easier for athletes to find private coaching to further their own personal development, to gain confidence in themselves, and understand how hard work can influence their success in sport and throughout their life.
